ANTHONY PARASOLE

His latest mix for mnml ssg is nothing short of amazing, I swear to god I was blown-afuckin-way by this guys seamless transitions and fine track arrangement/selection.
He begins with the glorious Fred P ( aka Black Jazz Consortium ) another rising name over at the NY house scene, whose deep house tracks differ from dreamy to drum heavy. (The
actual track on the mix is unreleased so bonus!)

I can't say I've heard every track on this mix but some names I like include: the funky Metro Area, Claude Von Stroke and Dead
Prez???
I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for any of this guys
future releases, also note he recently started a label with Levon Vincent another NY based performer.

This is one of my favourite mixes I've heard this year, it gives me a fresh look at house and where its going. This mix progresses from very dark sounds to the most up lifting of house
synths. His ability to marry the two is incredible.

BACK TO BASICS

I didn't realise that the last time I used Traktor or even recorded a mix was almost a month ago now. I feel as if I have matured over my summer vacation. I had a lot of time to think about my mixing style and how to make it tighter, I think starting from scratch, just EQ's and Tempo matching would be an excellent way of strengthing my vitals. Also utilizing loops and using existing drops and build ups as opposed to always relying on Traktor's effects would make more of an honest mixer outta me...
Below is a mix of a few tracks I have been listening to quite a lot this week, its mostly just EQs and Filters being changed, but as I mentioned: back to basics right : 0

Mini Mix 2009/08/12

Track List:

Marko Furstenberg - Ratsholz

Matthias Meyer - Tout Va Bien (Original Mix)

Joerg Burger - Polyform 1

Naohito Uchiyama

I found this song completely by chance this morning, I think it was in a 'Trance/Techno' playlist along with Marko Furstenberg another artist I just started to get into. I really enjoy this song, I think I must have looped it about 5 times. Its so smooth and fluid and has a really nostalgic sound to it, also its so different to the tracks I've been listening to for the past couple of months, which have mostly been very deep/dark or m_nus related. Green Echoes is just inviting and effortless to listen to.

I also found he had several releases after Green Echoes, and that I am any thing but discovering him : S

The Sun Also Rises is his latest release (on Synapse) I'm not that informed on deep house but I expect it to be along the lines of Uchiyama, his songs are rich in ambience and subtle synth lines. This release is an amalgam of very soft sound scapey rythmic tracks which are inviting and easy to get lost in, along with much tougher bass heavy industrial tracks.
